Yelp’s Battle at Best Place – an “Iron Chef”-themed fundraiser and friendly, spirited competition – will pit local favorites against each other in friendly battle, all in the name of an amazing homegrown cause. (http://www.sharpliteracy.org/)

Eight chefs from local restaurants will compete to win the title of crowd favorite using the same list of ingredients to create unique, one-of-a-kind dishes that can’t be found anywhere but this event! Add to that “Iron Chef”-themed coffee cocktails from local roasters such as Valentine and Stone Creek, hometown breweries Brenner, Lakefront, and Milwaukee Brewing bringing their favorite suds, and custom cocktails from Great Lakes and Central Standard distilleries. To round it out, the Brewcity Bruisers and Visit Milwaukee’s #DearMKE will be on hand, as well as interactive art installations, a breakdancing battle, silent auction, and much more!

“The children of Milwaukee’s most challenged neighborhoods will greatly benefit from this fun and delicious event. You have the chance to try some new foods and positively influence Milwaukee’s future by supporting education for the present,” notes Lynda Kohler, SHARP Literacy President/CEO.

“There’s an energy and a passion coursing through Milwaukee for Milwaukee these days; people are eager to celebrate the unique local organizations that make our city so special,” adds Rachel Fell, Yelp Milwaukee Community Manager. “I’m honored and excited that Yelp can give back with this unique event, both by raising funds for a worthwhile cause as well as by putting the spotlight on so many fantastic Milwaukee businesses!”

This event is open to the public with an RSVP on Yelp and a $10 donation at the door.
