The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum and Madison Bach Musicians presents: An Evening of Lieder by Mozart, Haydn, and Schubert

Milwaukee, WI – The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum and Madison Bach Musicians are pleased to present acclaimed duo Chelsea Morris soprano and Trevor Stephenson fortepiano on Saturday, September 27, at 7:00 p.m. They will perform an evening of songs and lieder by Mozart, Haydn & Schubert. Trevor Stephenson plays his 5-octave 18th century German fortepiano to accompany Ms. Morris. Stephenson will also play solo fortepiano works by Mozart and Beethoven and give a brief talk about the Classical style and discuss how the fortepiano creates a thrilling sense of theatrical immediacy in the music of the 18th-century masters.  Tickets are $20 / $15 Museum Members. About Trevor Stephenson
Artistic director and founder of the Madison Bach Musicians (madisonbachmuscians.org), received a Doctor of Musical Arts Degree in Historical Performance of 18th-Century Music from Cornell University, where he studied fortepiano with Malcom Bilson. With his colleague, Norman Sheppard, he has made and refurbished a series of historical keyboard instruments ranging from Italian Renaissance harpsichords to Victorian pianos. He has released fifteen recordings on the Light and Shadow label and tours throughout the United States as performer and lecturer. Information and tour schedule at trevorstephenson.com

About Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum
Overlooking Lake Michigan, this Italian Renaissance-style villa was designed by architect David Adler in 1923. Originally the residence of Lloyd Smith of the A.O. Smith Corporation and his family, the museum features fine and decorative arts dating from the 15th through the 18th centuries, wrought-iron masterpieces by Milwaukee’s most important craftsman Cyril Colnik, a formal Renaissance garden, changing exhibitions by local, regional, and international artists, and community events including theater, literature, poetry, arts education, and special events.
