The Milwaukee Premiere of The Dream Café Musical!

Milwaukee, WI –The Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum is proud to present the Milwaukee Premiere of local play-write and director Katie O’Regan’s original The Dream Café Musical! for eight nights opening Thursday, November 13, 2014. Welcome to Rhymeington, Wisconsin where the Dream Café & Spa is ready to heal what ails you. Lovers, dreamers, workaholics, and even angels find themselves transformed and inspired in this self-help musical comedy! Come and get therapy with this unique cast of characters, and see what a hypnotist who rides a Harley, a high-strung hairdresser, a workaholic corporate woman from New York City looking for some rejuvenation and a professional artist who wants to start over in life after failing in his marriage, can do for you. Witness the “Legend of Rhymeington” happen when two middle-aged lovers find hope again in each other’s eyes. The show runs 2 hours including an intermission. This show is dedicated to Julie Wichman, former cast member of The Dream Cafe Musical! Julie lost her young life to cancer in 2012. We will never forget you Julie.

ABOUT KATIE O’REGAN:
Director Katie O’Regan brings a wealth of theatre experience to the stage. She has directed sixty staged productions, some of which include a New York City production of Tennessee Williams at the Producers Club in New York City, and an original play entitled Women Who Work by Keith Carey Greene. Some of her favorite classics that she directed are Seven Brides for Seven Brothers, The Tempest and The Christmas Schooner. This fall she is working at Webster Middle School Of Cedarburg, WI, directing the

musical Beauty and The Beast, where she will cast 130 students to bring the show to life! In the last five years, production of O’Regan’s original musical The Dream Café Musical!, involved 100 actors, in five different productions, including a production in April of 2014 in New York City and a production in August of 2013 in Chicago. Along with being a director, writer and choreographer, she is also a classically trained singer and actress. O’Regan is currently finishing her dissertation for her doctoral degree in Adult Education with an emphasis in Music Education at the University of Wisconsin. She has been invited to share her research at a number of international conferences on the topic of mentoring and finding your personal voice as a leader through creative means.

About Villa Terrace Decorative Arts Museum
Overlooking Lake Michigan, this Italian Renaissance-style villa was designed by architect David Adler in 1923. Originally the residence of Lloyd Smith of the A.O. Smith Corporation and his family, the museum features fine and decorative arts dating from the 15th through the 18th centuries, wrought-iron masterpieces by Milwaukee’s most important craftsman Cyril Colnik, a formal Renaissance garden, changing exhibitions by local, regional, and international artists, and community events including theater, literature, poetry, arts education, and special events.
