The Scott Wooldridge Trio will make its first-ever Milwaukee appearance at Shank Hall on Friday, Feb. 27, celebrating the release of Wooldridge’s self-titled solo CD. The CD release show will also have Milwaukee singer-songwriter Myles Coyne and the Chicago duo of Steve Dawson and Diane Christiansen (Dolly Varden) as opening acts. The show starts at 8 p.m.; tickets are $10.

Wooldridge, who began his music career in Milwaukee in the mid-80s and is best known for his work with the Wooldridge Brothers  released his first solo album on Jan. 30. The album reflects the more acoustic-oriented music that he has been playing in his adopted home town of Minneapolis over the past few years. Along with Wooldridge, the trio consists of Sloan Hamilton (mandolin and bouzouki) and Josh Braun (pedal and lap steel). Both musicians have been playing with Wooldridge in Minneapolis, and are featured prominently on the album.
The show is part of a three-night mini-tour that will see the trio play at Cafe Carpe in Ft. Atkinson, Wis. on Feb. 26; and Ned’s Corner Pub in Kokomo, Ind., on Feb. 28; in addition to the Shank Hall show. A CD release show in Minneapolis is planned for April.
For more information on the tour and CD, please see the attached onesheet.
The album “Scott Wooldridge” is available at CD Baby, iTunes, Amazon and in selected retail stores. It can also be downloaded from the Scott Wooldridge website.
