Riverwest Radio Art Auction Fundraiser
This fundraiser will support their expansion from internet radio to an FM broadcast station.
Milwaukee, Wisconsin – March 2, 2015 — Riverwest Radio will host an evening with a silent and live art auction, music, and more on Sunday, March 8 from 5:30pm to 11pm at The Polish Falcon (801 E. Clark Street). This fundraiser will support their expansion from internet radio to an FM broadcast station.
The silent and live auction as well as an online auction will feature over 75 works by well-known artists with strong ties to Milwaukee, and in particular, Riverwest. Artwork by Michelle Grabner, Paul Drueke, Scott Reeder, Tyson Reeder, Faythe Levine, Kim Miller, Peter Barrickman and many more will be available.
A preliminary online auction on eBay will take place March 1-7th. This precedes the event on March 8, which includes a silent and live art auction, plus music by emcee and DJ Paul Finger, Eric Blowtorch, and Jon Burks Band. Festivities will include food, and a cash bar. A $5 donation is suggested at the door.
Riverwest Radio (RWR) is an emerging non-profit whose mission is to provide a platform for community voices. This event will commemorate RWR’s third anniversary in addition to raising money for a radio tower and retooling the current studio at 824 E. Center Street into a full-fledged radio station. RWR currently hosts approximately 45 shows a week. In October the FCC awarded RWR a permit to construct a station to broadcast on FM.
