Milwaukee, Wisconsin – Join Made in Milwaukee and Colectivo Coffee for Bay View Gallery Night (BVGN) on Friday, June 5th for an evening of exploring the Bay View community and great Milwaukee art talents. Over 45 local businesses will host hundreds of local artists & musicians for the evening, highlighting the creative community and great spaces of Bay View.

Bay View Jazz Fest, a major feature of the spring BVGN, is back for its second year! The jazz fest features 17 free shows at 6 different BVGN locations, featuring the Russ Johnson Quartet, Twin Talk, 4th Street Elevator and the Fred Boswell Quartet to name a few. (http://mkejazzvision.org/bay-view-jazz-fest/)

Highlights of this spring’s events include Food Truck Friday in Morgan Park – stop by for a bit to eat from several local trucks and enjoy the food and local music from the Cecilio Negron Jr. Trio as part of Bay View Jazz Fest in the park. Also not to be missed is the hidden gem that is Milwaukee Makerspace – many makers will be on hand doing demos, featuring their infamous 7ft tall robotic arm and an interactive art piece from Rachel Clark. And speaking of interactive art, Refuge Smoothies will be creating a “community puzzle” where everyone that stops in will have a chance to customize and add their piece with the final work to be displayed in the shop.

The Makers Market is continuing its season in the Colectivo lot featuring over 30 local vendors hand picked by Cortney Heimerl. Newly opened guesthouse The Muse will feature art and music outside as well as work from Melissa Dorn Richards, Skully Skyrocket, Daniel Fleming, Kerri Root, Carol Rode-Curley, Sara Risley and Jeff Redmon in the gallery. Bay View teens will also have work displayed in a collaboration show entitled “The Me You Don’t See” presented by Mke Mindbody Wellness, Parkside School of the Arts, and Cream City Swirl.

Among the new businesses participating be sure to make it out for the grand opening party for Orange Gallery with music provided by DJ Malcolm Michiles and art from Nina Bednarski, John Kowalczyk and much more. For those who love to support kid’s art efforts please be sure to visit St. Ann Center for Intergenerational Care where 5-12 year olds will hold their first gallery opening to display, talk about, and sell their work to raise money for the St. Ann’s non-profit. Another new addition and sponsor of BVGN is Rev Pop with their show FOUND & DISPLACED, featuring music from Amanda Huff, limited edition silkscreened posters and Bay View t-shirts and more.

As an added bonus, Rush Mor, Church of 2 Wheels, and South Shore Cyclery are bringing back the Rollout! An interactive bike ride within the Bay View neighborhood; teaming up with local galleries and other venues to bring you a unique biking experience.

For a complete listing of all the evenings events, times and more information please visit BVGN.ORG.

Special thanks to our sponsors: Colectivo Coffee, 88.9 Radio Milwaukee, Rev Pop, Tonic Tavern, the Shepherd Express and Cafe Lulu
