Milwaukee, WI – This winter Next Act Theatre will take the opportunity to say thanks to educators with their production of NO CHILD… by Nilaja Sun. Marti Gobel brings to life 16 vivid characters – students, principal, custodian, parents and teachers – to relate this uplifting tale of one artist’s passionate quest to leave none of her children behind. NO CHILD… will play January 29 – February 22, 2015 at Next Act’s home, 255 S. Water St., in Walker’s Point.

In conjunction with the production of NO CHILD…, Next Act Theatre is pleased to showcase the art work of a small group of Milwaukee Public School art teachers in its lobby gallery. These artist/art educators exemplify a practice-what-you-preach ethic in the finest sense and teach or have taught at all levels in the district. Their creativity is expressed in a variety of media and styles including painting by Michael Broderick and Elizabeth Kremer, printmaking by Victoria Samolyk, sculpture by Ann Baer, assemblage by Peter Dahlke, and drawing by Michaleen Wilmsen.

The exhibit will be open January 29 – February 22, 2015 during regular Ticket Office hours and through performance time on production days.

The mission of Next Act Theatre is to engage the hearts and minds of our audience with compelling and intimate theatre productions intended to stimulate thought, foster the exchange of ideas and to promote the development of new perspectives and understanding. Next Act Theatre is celebrating 25 years of professional theatre.
