Gallery Night Draws Big Crowds

And photos, photos, photos. We capture the scene, the people, the art.

Milwaukee’s Gallery Night is always a big attraction in the summer, but this year it fell on the same night as the opening of the Riverwest 24 bike race, which brought a huge scene to Swing Park under the Holton Avenue Bridge, adding to the bustling ambience of the night. As always, the galleries in the Third Ward attracted throngs of people but there were also crowds in East Town and Walkers Point, not a mention a big turnout at the Redline Gallery on N. Fourth Street, run by Steve Vande Zande, whom we’ve profiled here.

The weather was beautiful, the people were having fun and everybody had their favorite among the 65 places showing art exhibitions.  Our photos capture the scene.

Gallery Night was grand, and I particularly liked seeing highlights of upcoming theater productions from different groups at the Broadway Center on Friday night, plus visiting Redline for the first time and seeing Eli Rosenblatt’s paintings at The Iron Horse Hotel. Thanks some much for the photos, because we’re all limited to a certain number of places and can’t be everywhere!
