Riverwest’s 38th annual Locust Street Festival of Music & Art is back, boasting six live music stages, multiple food and artist venders, and the ever-popular Beer Run/Walk. The event will be held Sunday, June 8th from 11a.m. to 8p.m. Each year (see our photos from 2013 and 2012)  more than 15,000 festival-goers close down Locust St. between Humboldt Ave. and Holton St., flocking to neighborhood shops, bars, and restaurants along the stretch of pavement. Admission is free except for the Beer Run/Walk, which has a $22 entry fee to be paid when you arrive at the festival.

For many, this event, which kicks off at 11:30a.m., is the highlight of the day. Runners and walkers weave through the streets of Riverwest covering 1.8 miles. Along the way participants are met with four mandatory beer stops. Runners must be 21 or older to participate. There are prizes for the first, second, and third place runners for both genders in each age group.

Besides the race there are activities for the kids such as a drum-circle and arts and crafts stations. The event will also host over 11 different food and drink venders, street-side shopping and art pieces on display and for sale. As you sample food and shop, you can listen to one of the over 20 local and national musical artists booked to play throughout the day. Here is a schedule of all performances:
