First Stage opens “Big”
Mark Metcalf talks with Jeff Frank, artistic director at First Stage Children's Theater, before "Big: The Musical" opens the season this weekend.
First Stage is opening a big show, “pun fully intended,” says artistic director Jeff Frank. The always excellent local children’s theater has adapted the Tom Hanks film Big into a family friendly musical. The show—danceable piano and all—opens Friday at the Todd Wehr Theater at the Marcus Center for Performing Arts in downtown Milwaukee.
On this week’s podcast, I talked with Jeff about putting together this particular show and also about the upcoming season at First Stage, including this year’s holiday show, Rudolph the Red-Nosed Reindeer.
Big: The Musical opens Friday, Oct. 19, and runs through Nov. 11. For tickets, showtimes and more information, click here.
