Before taking the stage at the Riverside, Lewis Black and John Bowman joined Mark to talk about the pre-show rituals, the 2012 election and much, much more.

I’ve watched both Lewis Black and John Bowman perform comedy since they were about four feet tall in a basement that was about five feet high at the West Bank Cafe on 42nd Street just west of 9th Avenue in New York City. To watch them both develop the craft of doing comedy over the years has been amazing to me.

Before Lewis and John took the stage at the Riverside Theater in Milwaukee last Friday, I had the chance to sit down with them to talk about the pre-show process and how that’s changed (mainly, not as much booze), and with this being an election year, and with Lewis Black being Lewis Black, we talked about this year’s presidential election campaign.

We discussed Paul Ryan, the absurdity of the Democratic and Republican national conventions, the ever-shrinking amount of independent voters, the city that is home to the famed Starbucks across from another Starbucks and much, much more.

WTF with this iTunes nonsense? Earth to Third Coast: forcing listeners into iTunes is about as smart as putting a leash on a racehorse.
